About the TAR Project

This "Truth About Race Based on Genetic ScienceProject ("TAR Project") originated when Michael Caudy wrote an Essay by that name, and started sending it to other people, both scientists and non-scientists, to get their feedback and suggestions about how to improve the Essay.

As a genomics researcher, Michael was aware of the results of the 1000 Genomes Project, which have now been published:  We now have enough data from human genetics and genomics studies to state with certainty that every human being has essentially the same set of genes, the same genome.

Therefore, individuals from every ethnic group can have the same potential, if provided the proper education and growth requirements.

This is no longer just a guess, or a hypothesis.

This is the genetic basis for the long-held belief by many that:

"Every human being is of equal value, regardless of race or skin-color".

One of the first persons to reply was Craig Mello, a world-leader (Nobel laureate) in Genetics, who had written such a substantial response, that Michael decide to revise the plan for the TAR Project, and to invite others to write their own Essays on the same or related topics.

Craig's Essay provides a logical genetic argument that in fact third world and hunter-gatherer societies in Africa and other continents very likely have evolved higher intelligence on average than members of technologically advanced societies, who are not under constant genetic selection for survival.

Together these Essays, and the related Comments, Forum Topics and Research Topics create a permant online Knowledge Base that anyone can access, read, and also provide additional written Essays, Comments.

By also publishing such articles in various liberal and conservative news media, this will generate a very active discussion of these facts in the various cable news shows, which lead naturally to a very broad exposure.

In particular, it may be possible to educate Donald Trump, who seems intelligent is some respects, and may simply have been brought up in a racist environment. He does seem to recognize and honestly admit the many mistakes of past Republican administrations, so he may be open to clear scientific facts. Given that Trump will likely be the next Republican nominee - and could possibly be the next President - we scientists should do everything we can to properly educate him and others.

I believe that as scientists we have the opportunity - and responsibility - to actively work to make sure this genetic science knowledge reaches people of many different backgrounds and educational levels.

If we can achieve this spread of genetic knowledge, it will eventually contribute to ending racism.

Please read the brief essay: ""The Truth about Race based on Genetic Science", and give your most creative ideas about how to educate as many uninformed racists as possible.
